In BARF/raw diets, bone meal can be used to replace bones to make sure to cover your dog´s need for calcium and phorphorous.
You can choose from which animal you would like the bone meal. This matters expecially for dogs with allergies towards certain proteins or if you are doing an elimination diet to find out if your dog is allergic to something.
Important: Each bone meal type has a different amount of calcium and phosphorous:
deer (Ca: 14,5% and P: 6,79%)
horse (Ca: 15,3% and P: 7,14%)
lamb (Ca: 12,7% and P: 6,06%)
beef (Ca: 14,0% and P: 6,5%)
goat (Ca: 21,5% and P: 10,4%)
Because of this, dosages vary. If you need help with figuring out the right amount, I can help you - just get in touch with me.
